Tweeting GSA and meeting new cool geologists really changed my outlook last semester. After I failed my comprehensive exams last May, I was so depressed that I wasn't sure I wanted to be a scientist any more or if I was even cut out for it. Finding this great group of supportive, happy scientists made a huge difference to me. It helped me get past the depression and believe in myself and my science again.
It's made me believe that amazing things are possible, when even small acts are executed. Now, I am meeting all sorts of new people, expanding my network and reaching out to people in ways I had never conceived before.
Now I am thinking about all the new ways I can reach out through this social network and maybe touch someone else, the way each of you have touched me.Slightly_Riftedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02216846073655989831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7932454006168380323.post-16373316087763095872011-02-11T12:48:05.405-06:002011-02-11T12:48:05.405-06:00Well, of course I have to like this post! : ) Than...Well, of course I have to like this post! : ) Thanks for the shout-out & great work!Kea Gileshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11211530812365532404noreply@blogger.com
